1. How do I apply a picture to a marble?

Pictures can be applied to the ‘Plains’ marble set in the ‘My Marbles’ Gallery. There are three icons at the bottom of the screen (from left to right) delete image, apply image from gallery, use camera.

Things to note:

  • Restrictions for iPod Touch users (no camera)
  • Using the camera will place the image directly onto the marble. It will not be stored in the gallery at any point

2. Will my picture be applied to all 5 marbles in the set?

You can apply a different image to each marble. The marble in the foreground will be the marble that the image is applied to. To apply an image to a different marble, rotate the desired marble to the front and add the image of your choice.

3. How do I unlock new marble sets?

Marble sets are unlocked via various methods ranging from in-game progression to community aspects.

4. I’ve unlocked a new marble set – where can I find it?

When new marble sets are unlocked, they can be found in two locations. Firstly, they can be viewed in the ‘Gallery’ section where you can view each individual marble in greater. Secondly, the unlocked marbles will be added to the customizable sub menu icons, which gives you the option to play with the new unlocked pack in all game modes.

5. How do I play a Tournament?

Click on the ‘Single player’ marble on the main menu. Tournaments are based on a 16 player knockout. You can customise your marbles before you enter. Winning a match will progress you to the next round, however, losing will see you eliminated from the tournament and you will have to start all over again.

6. How do I play a League?

Click on the ‘Single player’ marble on the main menu. Leagues are played against seven fellow competitors. You may change the amount of sets played against each player, ranging from one to seven.

The player who finishes top of the league after all matches have been played is the winner!

7. How do I play a Career?

Click on the ‘Career’ marble on the main menu. Career is played over a variety of levels and against a range of different characters. Career incorporates different game modes, as well as different lengths of matches.

8. I haven’t got time to play Career in one sitting – will I have to start again from the beginning?

Game progress is automatically saved after each completed game and saves in each game mode are independent, meaning that you may have a saved ‘Career’, ‘League’, and ‘Tournament’ all saved at the same time. You will be asked upon re-entry to your game mode whether you wish to resume or restart the mode completely.

Remember: Saving only occurs after each match – not set. If you are short of time, it is unwise to start a long 7 set game, as progress will be lost if you do not complete the match in its entirety.

9. Can I change any settings for my marble games?

In single player mode, arena type, game type, marble selection, and game duration are all changeable features. Each one is represented with an icon at the bottom of the screen.

10. I’ve seen people with different coloured backgrounds – how do I change mine?

Simply navigate to the ‘Settings’ menu and scroll to the bottom of the sub menu.

11. Can I play my own music whilst playing Marbles?

Yes you can. This option can be found in the ‘Settings’ menu.

12. The game rules seem abridged – Can I read a more detailed version?

A more detailed description of all our game rules can be found here:

Ringer

  • Game type requires a total of 13 marbles, 1 marble in the centre of the cross and 3 marbles on each cross line
  • Players will take it in turns to shoot
  • Player may navigate around the ring line via tilt control (where applicable within the boundaries of the current shot options)
  • If the player knocks a target marble out with their shooter but the shooter stays in the ring – the player will continue playing from the position that the shooter marble finished
  • If the player knocks out a target marble(s) and their shooter marble leaves the ring also, the players turn is over
  • If the player doesn’t knock out the target marble(s) and their shooter remains in the ring, the player must leave their shooter where it is until the other player has shot. Then the player will be allowed to pick it up and shoot from outside the ring – the player will not shoot from where the marble landed
  • If the shooter marble is left in the arena, the opposition player has a chance to knock out the player’s shooter marble. If this occurs, the successful player will steal all of the oppositions points collected up until that stage of the match.

Pound

  • Players may navigate around the outer circle (The bar) and shoot from any position they like outside this circle.
  • The first player will shoot at the marbles in the pound.
  • If the player knocks any marble outside the pound, the player wins those marbles
  • If the player fails to knock a marble out of the pound, his Shooter marble will remain where it stops (providing it is outside the pound but within the bar)
  • If it lands inside the pound, it will be lifted and the player will ‘pay’ a marble into the pound for the return of his/her shooter marble
  • If the players marble lands outside the bar, the marble will be picked up by the player
  • If a player strikes an oppositions shooter marble, the struck player must give all marbles (points) they have won up until that point to the opposition
  • The winner is the person who scores the most points once all the marbles have been knocked out of the pound

Moon

  • Players will place one of their marbles on one tip of the moon
  • Players will place the remaining marbles inside the moon
  • Players can navigate around the ring to select the best possible shot angle
  • Players will take it in turn to knock out their own coloured marbles inside the moon

Players turn will continue if:

  • The player knocks their own marbles out of the moon and his/her shooter marble also comes out of the moon
  • The player knocks out his own marbles as well as some of his opponents and his shooter marble comes out of the ring

Players turn will end if:

  • The player hits no marbles at all
  • The player hits only an opposition players marbles
  • The player hits their own marbles but their shooter marble does not leave the ring
  • The player hits a combination of their own marbles and the oppositions marbles and their marble does not leave the ring

End of game

  • Hitting the opponent’s moon tip marble will end the game instantly in defeat
  • Hitting your own moon tip marble before you have cleared all of your own marbles within the moon will end in defeat
  • Hitting your own moon tip marble after all of your target marbles have been eliminated from the arena will add an additional point’s score and bring the game to a close.
